Keeping you safe in your home
Building safety is one of our highest priorities as we work to make sure you're safe and your homes meet current regulations.
The Building Safety Act was passed on 28 April 2022 to improve building standards, introduce a new Building Safety Regulator and give residents a greater voice. Read more here for information on key changes and new measures the Act will bring.
Our contractors check the health and safety of communal areas and key safety features. This includes looking at communal lifts, fire alarms, emergency lighting, automatic smoke vents and communal door entry systems, as well as highlighting any maintenance that’s needed in shared spaces, concerns about how customers are using the space and fire hazards.
If a managing agent or managing company looks after your communal space, then they are responsible for ensuring these checks happen. We’ll support you in making sure they do this. If you’re not sure whether a managing agent looks after your space, you can check your service charge payments or get in touch with us on 0300 323 0011.
If there is anything health and safety related that you want to let us know about, please do get in touch with us at healthandsafety@moat.co.uk
